Lucy Vallis
Lucy is the Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing at Save the Children UK.
Save the Children UK is a child rights organisation with a mandate rooted in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. As part of the global Save the Children movement, we work in 120 countries worldwide, funding programmes and advocating our cause to change children’s lives. Our work spans both ongoing development programmes and emergency response, including in the UK. We exist for children. To make their world a better place. To help them learn, grow and become who they want to be. No matter where they’re growing up, we find a way to reach the children who need us most.
Under her tenure, the future of employee wellbeing is about promoting the value of prevention before cure. She takes a data-driven, strategic, pre-emptive, intersectional approach to wellbeing and encourages people to advocate for themselves to find balance and flow. In addition, she is working with the team to ensure the physical, mental, social, and financial wellbeing of the fantastic people who work at Save the Children UK are prioritised.
Lucy previously worked as a Departmental Wellbeing Lead for the Home Office. She also worked in Brussels for Mental Health Europe as the Gender Policy Officer and Project Manager, leading the Trans-European project The mental health impacts of violence against women at work.
