With nominations now open for the 2026 Great British Workplace Wellbeing Awards, we’re speaking to some of last year’s winners to discover what winning meant to them, both personally and professionally and to learn more about the initiatives that earned them recognition.
In the first of the series, Wellity’s James Sharples sat down with Stuart Clack from Grain LNG, winner of the Lifetime Commitment to Wellbeing Award in 2025.
Stuart was “completely shocked” to win, describing the moment as “amazing & surreal” and made even more memorable when the room sang him happy birthday during the ceremony!
But his win was no accident. Stuart has been driving wellbeing initiatives for many years, taking what he calls a “broad approach” to workplace wellbeing. From large-scale campaigns, like Grain LNG’s prostate screening programme in partnership with Prostate Cancer UK, which tested over 150 staff, to the smaller, everyday actions such as cooking Christmas breakfast for colleagues or running awareness sessions, his philosophy is clear: little and often makes a lasting impact.
“Not one activity will suit everyone,” Stuart explains. “That’s why we mix holistic, physical and mental health initiatives — and we’re not afraid to revisit campaigns for a new audience.”
Winning the award has given Stuart’s work extra visibility and credibility, both within Grain LNG and beyond. It’s strengthened his ability to raise wellbeing on the organisational agenda, secure buy-in, and inspire others to adopt new initiatives.
His advice for those starting their own workplace wellbeing journey? Don’t be disheartened by mixed feedback. Wellbeing is personal, and timing is everything, for some, it’s not a no, it’s a not now!
And when it comes to entering the awards?
“Just do it,” Stuart says. “Even if you don’t win, it’s a massive tick for your workplace wellbeing programme and recognition that can help you push your plans forward.”

If Stuart’s story has inspired you, now’s the time to shine a spotlight on the people, teams and initiatives making a real difference to workplace wellbeing.
Nominations close 26th September 2026.
