I am Co Chair of the Balance community for Aviva UK which forms part of the DEI team and is completely voluntary for colleagues who feel passionately about creating a better culture within the workforce. Our community spotlights topics key to achieving gender equity but also demonstrates role model behaviours within our industry.
This year I have championed and supported how we support leaders and employees by promoting the benefits of job share and part time working which is integral to combatting the rise in women in unemployment. Provided brave and safe spaces for survivors of sexual assault so they can help us be better allies for them, which resulted in the creation of our people policy internally.
External I am running a cross industry collaboration to come together to talk about recruiting diverse teams, why its important and how culture is a key driver to attracting more people into the industry!
